when you fall for someone, you forget about time. but not in the way time stands still in movies and the world is only you and him. it is forgotten because you start believing that this would actually last, when in actuality, nothing could ever endure time. as with everything else, passions will perish and all that is good will putrefy when time erodes and decays. but for now, you forget about time. the moment you fall for someone is when an atom collides with the fist in your chest for the very first time. an atom- a hypothetical particle of matter so minute as to admit of no division. but the causatum, in contrast, is much bigger, like a colossal swell or an uprising of sorts, a titanium wave that crashes in, uninvited. and the sonance that gets under your skin and scrapes at the whites of your bones. but it isn't an unpleasant feeling, this collision. because it forces itself into your very core, the cavity it leaves isn't a freeway for hurt, but something you accept so very willingly, if only to know for a fleeting second that such feelings aren't just for romantic idealists, if only to know that someone could actually matter enough to make you want to take a shot at the highly ridiculous notion of love. you embrace it even when you know it has the authority to crush you. even when you know you have to surrender all under its dominion. but because it hits with such precision, it feels completely right and you don't hesitate for a moment to question its legitimacy or contemplate its plenary powers. and at that exact moment it is the validation of everything you've been feeling or evading. at that exact moment it is the absolute overthrow of uncertainty. and because you had craved so much for this, you cease to remember that while it takes an atom to give you the world, just a fraction could leave you ravished, desecrated and forgotten.
