hello earthlings. i am back from my hiatus. awesome. i broke it quite a few times, but nvrm.
so, for the past few days, i've been slacking and reading and helping my sister go through the tedious task of Preparing for Japan.
(konichiwa!)
i wrapped so many gifts, the ink got imprinted on my fingers :(
anyway we got this cool metallic christmas wrapping paper, hurhur. i dont think they do christmas in japan, but who cares. it's a novelty for them then.
oh holidays are awesome cos i get good breakfast everyday! on monday, i had american breakfast and loads of bacon! anyway my aunt bakes like, the best bacon cheese bread ever. cousin, i want more!! i can cook bacon! :D bacon is yum. i like yum.
dad's car just got back from the repairshop too. so we can go to the airport later! sister's flight is at one am, plus plus. i am sort of excited. but it kinda sucks at the same time cos i havent been anywhere remotely close to japan, unless you want to count china 13 years back.
i shall now introduce you guys to a show that's (to me,) comparable to heroes and gossip girl. HBO's True Blood Series! i spent the week watching it.
wikipedia says:True Blood is an American television drama series created by Alan Ball, based on the Sookie Stackhouse book series by Charlaine Harris. ( i vant to read.)hhur, dont you think Ball is a very funny surname.
The show has been renewed for a second season. (yay!)
True Blood details the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional small Louisiana town. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a diner, who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).
anyway, i chanced upon it while surfing the net, and it is something. :D
vampires and shapeshifters and werewolfs and what not. what's not to like? okay they have fat vampires. :( i thought they were supposed to be perfect and fit and beautiful :( like in twilight. breaking dawn sucks.
the entire thingy is set in some southern town, Bon Temps, in the USA. at first, their accent didnt really bother me and i thought it was quite nice on some of the cast, but then, Anna Paquin's constant happy-girl southern accent got to me and everytime she says something stereotypical of sweet people like 'it's a nice morning out, don't you think', i feel like throwing pigs at her.
Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse. seriously. she's called Sookie. i have to try hard no to think of SooKee Jewellery evertime i watch. and when they say her name with the accent, it's so 'soo-keh'. and yes, she's X Men's Rogue, blondified.male lead. he's a vampire. he acts like one too. quite freaky. and he's so pale in the show.
"mommy! he's so white!"
"no honey, we're white. he's pale."
Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton. this show has the weirdest names ever. Bill for a vampire. urrgh.but, it's super nice and i urge everyone to watch it. there was this part where he burst out of the ground, literally. i jumped. it was so sudden! and, he was naked. imagine crawling naked in the filth and mud! i pity the actor. o.O oh i forgot to mention that the show's rated m18 or R due to violence and sexual content. i wonder how HBO shows this on tv.
and, some sheriff (so southern town) of area 5 or something like that. he's a vampire too. and he's super big! his bulk is astounding. i was stunned into silence when he wore some tank that displayed his biceps.
he's actually quite alluring on the show, although he does nothing much except sit on his chair and glower at people. he owns a vampire bar called..... Fangtasia. Corny right! this is justified by 'puns were all the craze back in the 80s'. hurhur.Eric Northman played by Alexander Skarsgard. i realise you have to say Skarsgard with a drawl. Skaaarsgaaard. like that. try it.
he's sort of comparable to Edward to me yknw! maybe it's the stealth mode thing, but yeah.
(just so you know, the value of Edward has depreciated tremendously due to the fact that RP is playing him. hmmph. the movie premiered in the USA already. suckass!
channel five is showing Star Wars II later :D yum. hayden christensen wouldve made a perfect Edward. but at the same time, im glad he didnt get the part because the movie looks like it's suck alllooooot. i'm afraid to watch it!)
True Blood's addictive, if you don't mind the nudity and expletives and violence and southerness of it all.
and and and, pushing daisies!
i love (omg i cannot remember her name because my mind keeps repeating sookeh sookeh sookeh sookeh sookeh in Stephen Moyer's voice!!).
okay i love olive. she's so funny! and her voice rocks purlease.
digby, too.
:Dguess what ive been indulging in for the past few days also? Nintendogs! it's quite fun, but relatively retarded cos you have to talk to the screen. i want guitar hero!!!! i want to have all the guitar heroes. pffft.
speaking of musics, i keep watching rockstar supernova's competition videos on youtube. i think Dilana does an awesome cover of The Cranberries' Zombie. hurhur. i remember zaleha telling us about this song a long time ago. =/
what's in your head?
i am also suddenly addicted to Hinder's Lips of an Angel.
dad says the US economy is so bad that this man took his two sons to go beg at the roadside! so saddening! oh yesterday i saw Jonathan Leong of Singapore Idol fame while having dinner. he sneezes super loudly. =\
okay i have to pack for chalet.
